Amanda Paoletti, Ceramic Sculptor

I took my first sculpture class when I was sixteen at Glen Echo Park Art Studios in Maryland, and later went to college at the Portland School of Art (PSA) in Maine. This was an incredibly diverse learning exprience, that combined in depth studies in 2 & 3 dimenstional design, color theory, drawing, painting, printmaking, metal arts and ceramics.

After completing the foundation program at PSA, I moved to California and continued my studies at the California College of Arts & Crafts, studying with several well known bay area ceramicists, Art Nelson, Dennis Gallagher, Arthur Gonzales, and Viola Frey.

In 2008 I began a project to open and direct a community art studio in Grass Valley, CA, offering private and shared studio space, instruction in sculpture, pottery, drawing, painting, printmakng, and a gallery to promote participating artitst. Now in its second year, the Artists Studio in the foothills is fulfilling its mission to become The Visual Arts Center of Nevada County.
